It was a fun day. Even though it was the last weekend before Christmas, lots of fans showed up - and John Romita Jr. didn't disappoint.  He was very nice to everyone. He did head sketches, full body sketches - which took a little more patience and time - he signed comics fans brought in or bought in the store. He even did a Batman sketch (a character he doesn't normally draw) for someone who requested it.

There was even a "celebrity sighting" at Krypton that day. Someone noticed that on line with his son was Steve Augeri: the lead singer of JOURNEY.  Steve lives in Manhattan and drove to Staten Island with his son to meet JR JR.  This led to other people on line asking Steve for his autograph as well as getting JR JR's - a very cool turn of events.

JR JR's wife and son were also very pleasant and we were happy to be fortunate to have them present as well - they were in town to visit John's legendary father, John Romita, Sr., for Christmas.

The most memorable part of the day was the reason behind it.  JR JR did the signing for me and Fire Rescue 5, to whom I gave a check the following day for the 911 Fund in honor of my dear friend Allan Tarasiewicz, who gave his life on the day of the September 11th attacks.

All in all, it was one of the greatest days in my 15+ years of business.....
